Fitzgerald Police and Court
NARRATIVE:
The City of Fitzgerald has a rich history and takes extreme pride in its old looking downtown. They have renovated dozens of downtown buildings. However, the new police station and municipal court did not have any large available downtown building to renovate and occupy. Having completed the successful renovation of the adjacent City Hall in 2007, FSF was tasked on design a new building that paid homage to the existing historic structures in town. The new building is designed to resemble two old buildings that were renovated into the new functions and then a modern lobby and entrance infilled into an old alley.
