Academy Theatre

Narrative:

This project provides the City of Hapeville with a performing arts center that will be occupied by the Academy Theatre and be the focal point of the new Arts District. It combined two existing storefronts, with the right side containing the 138 seat theatre, lobby and back stage functions. The left side was renovated for restrooms, a main lobby, and a small informal performance area. Replacing a partially collapsed building, the exterior strives to pay homage to the history of the building by combining elements from the old store with traditional theatre elements.
